“Donkey’Trek” Bivouac - 20km

The tariff for this excursion does not include the cost of hiring the donkeys and their pack-saddles.

For this, please contact Madame Brilhault, La Gog’âne at St Rémy la Varenne.

Reception on the quayside at Gennes, towards 18.00.
The donkeys will be collected, here, by their owner.
Loading of your bivouac material into the “Canadia” canoes.
Set off downstream from Gennes towards St Rémy la Varenne.
We shall advise you on possible camp-sites for the night according to prevailing conditions.
Reception next day between 12.00 and 13.00 on the quay before the Guinguette (riverside restaurant) “La Riviera”.
The shuttle will take you back to La Gog’âne, and the end of an unforgettable journey.

Night navigation in canoes is FORBIDDEN.

Alcohol is permitted in moderation, but CANOËS D’ANJOU will not be held responsible for its clients’ behaviour.

At the end of your trip you will be picked up at the rendezvous point. Pick-up time will be given at the pre-departure briefing.

Hire Conditions

Be able to swim 25 metres – have no fear of water.
Children are accepted from 12 years old on the mono paddle
Minors must be accompanied by an adult and must be able to swim.
Children over 6 years old are accepted if accompanied by an adult, and are able to swim.

Recommended dress

Comfortable shoes, swimming costume, tee-shirt, hat, sunglasses.
Suncream.
If the weather is cloudy, warm clothing and a windproof top.

• All necessary boating equipment.
• Watertight lockers if desired.

IF THE WEATHER WORSENS, CAN WE ABANDON ?

Yes, we will bring you back to base. But you must be near a slipway to which our trailers can have access. We shall give a time and place for your recuperation in function of other traffic on the Loire. There will be no extra cost.

TERMS OF PAYMENT

For all groups of 10 people or more, a deposit of 30% of the total price is requested, to be sent to our business address.

This deposit will not be banked, but will be restored to you or subtracted from your bill on your arrival here.

Full payment will be made on signing the hire contract before embarkation on the day of your reservation.

Payment may be in cash or by cheque.

ARE ANIMALS ALLOWED ?

Yes, we accept animals if kept on a lead.

ACCESS TO PEOPLE OF REDUCED MOBILITY

Yes, we welcome people of reduced mobility, but specific cases may cause problems. Please contact us beforehand. Thank you for your understanding.
